For years, I looked like I had it all together. I was a successful OB/GYN and later a functional medicine doctor, helping women deliver babies, balance hormones, and “do it all.” Most days, I kept myself running on mocha lattes and dark chocolate, pushing through the exhaustion because rest felt impossible. On the outside, everything looked fine. On the inside, I was unraveling.

Anxiety, sleepless nights, and depression forced me to pause in a way I never had before. Slowing down was harder than any medical training I had ever done. At first, I did not believe it was safe to rest. Little by little, I stepped out of the patterns that kept me tied to proving myself. In that space, I discovered something I never expected: peace and presence were inside me all along. Nothing was “wrong” with me. I had simply lost touch with my own sense of self.

In our sessions, we do not start by pushing you to think your way out of stress. We begin by helping your body settle, so your mind can soften too. This is a core part of my approach, where we prioritize your nervous system as the foundation for change.

From there, we use simple tools to help your system move out of constant alert status. These might include:

  • Simple breathwork that lengthens your exhale and signals safety
  • Awareness cues, such as noticing your feet on the floor or the support of the chair beneath you
  • Gentle grounding practices that help you move from “always on” to “a little more at ease”

As your body calms, the thoughts and beliefs quietly driving stress or self-doubt come into view. In practice, this often means catching self-criticism as it shows up, naming what you are feeling without blame, and getting curious about the needs that have been ignored.

Then we practice a small Reset. You might take a slower breath. You might soften your shoulders. You might put a hand on your chest and feel your own presence. From there, we Renew. You choose one kinder thought. You choose one small action that supports steadiness. This work builds over time, creating change that feels calm and sustainable.
